So what does #SocialCurrency Means? Social Currency refers to the actual and potential resources from presence in social networks and communities, including both digital and offline. And in simple terms, #SocialCurrency means anything that we share that makes us look good.

#SocialCurrency has its own inevitable role in #Virality. I have one very interesting question for you all, so my question is what thing plays a major role in virality? Option A. Sharing things online Option B. Sharing things Offline

So as per the researches and studies it was a test conducted where most of the people said that its Option A. But the answer is incorrect based on research its Option B i.e sharing things offline that is nothing but we call it as “ Word of mouth “. Let's take your own example how much time do you spend online (per day) let's say 4 hours but what about the rest of the time? rest of the time you are offline. So the maximum time you spend is offline more than online where “ Word of mouth “ Comes in picture !.

Why do we share something interesting, let's say Facebook or any social media? So that we look cool and which makes us look good that is what #SocialCurrency means!

We share things so that people should like us and think about it as an interesting person so we do share things that have humor, news, something that is interesting. We never share things that are boring.

Jonah Berger went through some studies & identified 3 ways where our brand can get shared by people while they are earning their social currency too. It's very well said that “ Kill two birds with one stone “ which best suited in this case.

3 Ways Identified by Jonah Berger :

1 Identify things that make your brand remarkable 2 Utilize game mechanics 3 Make people feel like an insider
